Louisville, Colorado

Environmental Sustainability

As a council member I would like to see more ideas and proposals on how to reuse, reduce, and recycle in homes and businesses. For example, since Colorado is a leader in environmental protection, Louisville could create its own program that provides rebates for sustainable products such as solar panels, energy-efficient appliances, and low-energy heating and air conditioning units. With the growth and changes we continue to face in Louisville, I would like to see the parking issue to be a continuous part of the conversation with our businesses and the community.  The city has done a good job reducing glyphosates (the harmful chemical used in Round-Up) in weed reduction. I would like to do more. The World Health Organization has shown that glyphosates are cancer causing in humans and our animal friends. We do not need this chemical in our parks and open spaces.

I am in favor of plastic bag fees. Please see the attached blog for more info.
